Valued Clients,

We are aware of the Romaine advisory issued by the CDC earlier this afternoon and have consulted with our food safety team and have taken the following position.

Bondi Produce at this time is currently not recalling any product as per Public Health Canada. We will continue to monitor the situation and update you as the advisory develops. At this time, we have no reason to believe that any romaine or romaine products we are currently selling are impacted by this advisory due to growing regions and timelines.

The romaine we are sourcing is from Yuma, Arizona and all illnesses that have been reported (October 8th– 31) would have come from Salinas, California as the growing season in Yuma began November 12th. If you currently have inventory on any romaine product received before November 12th we advise throwing it out at this time as it potentially could fall within this advisory.

We will closely monitor the situation and advise you of any changes immediately.

Official Quote from Public Health Canada website.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is working with public health officials and the U.S. FDA to determine the source of the romaine lettuce that ill individuals were exposed to. If contaminated food products are identified in Canada, they will take the necessary steps to protect the public, including recalling the product as required. Currently, there are no Food Recall Warnings associated with this outbreak.
